We represent and work with farmers countrywide through lobby and advocacy. Among the key services we seek to provide is communication of information to and from our diverse membership. Therefore, an opportunity has arisen for professional services to operate a monthly magazine to disseminate information that is pivotal in successfully turning around the business of farming in Zambia. The magazine will be run as a self financing venture by creating common benefits from the venture for all stakeholders that work with farmers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure timely production and publication of the monthly Farmer Magazine.
• Discharge editorial functions by sourcing and producing quality material content for the magazine.
• In line with the organization values and client input, prepare an editorial policy.
• Produce a dummy copy of the magazine to a supervisory team appointed by the organization as per agreed timelines.
• Source adverts & payments for both the print copy and the E- magazine being published;
• Ensure successive and growing profitability of the Magazine;

Take full responsibility of the management, production and marketing of the magazine;

Demonstrate that the bidder has team capability with the following skills;

• Possess a degree in mass communication with development economics reporting experiences and basic knowledge of agriculture is an added advantage.
• Proven experience in producing high-quality publications, preferably in the agricultural sector.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Expertise in design and layout for both print and digital formats.
• Strong marketing skills and experience in managing the distribution of both physical and digital publications.
• Knowledge of current agricultural trends and practices will be an added advantage.
• Minimum practical experience of 5 years or more.
