JOB SUMMARY
Macer Haulage & Freight Zambia Limited is looking for highly organized and proactive Logistics Officers to oversee all logistical protocols at key border areas. The role involves tracking shipments, ensuring timely border clearances, and reducing delays in cargo movement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clearing and forwarding.
- Prepare daily tracking reports for all truck movements.
- Assist operations controllers in compiling monthly loading and offloading reports.
- Maintain a delay monitoring schedule and proactively address clearance issues.
- Support the development of convoy schedules for efficient truck movement.
- Ensure timely border crossing of trucks within your assigned area.
- Oversee truck dispatch preparations, including fuel top-ups, book-outs, and vehicle readiness checks.
- Enforce the zero-delay policy by coordinating with clearing agents for timely customs clearance.
- Minimize truck stayovers through active management of border logistics.
- Manage and control all book-out payments related to freight movement.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Diploma in clearing and forwarding.
- Full Grade 12 Certificate.
- Self-motivation, Attention to Detail & Deadline-Oriented.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office Package.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the transport/logistics industry (preferred)
- Flexible in work habits and schedules, ready to work for longer hours when required.
- Must know government procedures & customs laws relating to imports, exports, and transit of goods by road freight cargo.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
