JOB DETAILS:
Kalene Hills Fruit Company Limited (KHFCL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Zambia Fruit Company, under the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). The Company operates a hybrid fruit and vegetable processing plant in Mwinilunga District, North-Western Province of Zambia.
As part of its growth strategy, the Company is looking to fill the following position:
1.0 FACTORY MANAGER
The Factory Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire operations of a manufacturing or processing facility, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and compliance with safety and quality standards. Their primary focus is on optimizing production, managing personnel, maintaining equipment, and controlling costs to achieve business objectives. This position reports to the General Manager.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
• Oversee end-to-end processing operations from raw material intake to finished product dispatch.
• Implement and optimize production schedules to meet demand efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety standards.
• Ensure all products meet industry quality and safety standards.
• Work with the quality control team to maintain consistent product quality.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Lead and manage plant personnel, including production supervisors, maintenance teams, and quality control staff.
• Implement training and development programs to enhance workforce skills.
• Oversee equipment maintenance schedules to ensure plant efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs to prolong equipment lifespan.
• Collaborate with procurement to ensure consistent raw material supply.
• Optimize inventory management to minimize waste and reduce costs.
• Ensure efficient dispatch and distribution of finished goods.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
• Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) O Levels.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Production Management, Food Science or a related field.
• Professional membership with relevant bodies.
• Minimum eight (8) years of work experience in management or similar position.
2.0 FINANCE MANAGER
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing financial management, ensuring accuracy in reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and operational efficiency. The Finance Manager prepares financial statements, budgets, supports audits, provides strategic financial insights for decision-making, and maintains relationships with key financial stakeholders and leading the finance team. This Position Reports to the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee all financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance in line with financial accounting standards and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s business objectives.
• Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Oversee budget preparation, execution, and variance analysis, providing strategic recommendations.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets, prevent financial mismanagement and coordinate and facilitate both internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulatory requirements, and timely statutory filings.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
• Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) O Levels.Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or CA(Zambia)
• Associate membership with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
• Minimum of eight (8) years of work experience in management or a similar position.
3.0 FINANCE OFFICER
The Finance Officer is responsible for financial management, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and efficiency in financial operations. The role involves managing budgeting, financial transactions, cash flow, and statutory compliance, while providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making. This position reports to the Senior Finance Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards.
• Assist in budget preparation, execution, and variance analysis, providing recommendations.
• Assist in external and internal audits, ensuring timely and accurate financial documentation.
• Manage accounts payable, receivables, and supplier payments to maintain financial health.
• Maintain financial records and ensure timely submission of required statutory and tax filings.
• Provide financial insights and support to the Finance Manager for business decision-making.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
• Grade 12 Certificate with five (5)0 Levels.
• Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Affiliate membership (Graduate, Licentiate or Technician) with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants.
• Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in an accounting role.
4.0 HUMAN RESOURCE AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER
The Human Resource and Administration Manager will be responsible for managing all human capital and administrative functions within the Company. The role involves developing and implementing HR policies, overseeing talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and ensuring compliance with labour laws. The position also involves managing administrative services to support operational efficiency. This position reports to the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement HR strategies and policies aligned with the company’s goals.
• Oversee the recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to attract and retain top talent.
• Manage employee relations, disciplinary procedures, & grievance handling in line with laws.
• Ensure compliance with labour regulations, workplace policies, and employee welfare initiatives.
• Implement and oversee performance management systems to enhance productivity.
• Develop and coordinate staff training and development programs to build workforce capacity.
• Manage compensation, payroll, and benefits administration.
• Maintain and oversee all administrative services, e.g. office management & support functions.
• Foster a positive workplace culture and drive employee engagement initiatives.
• Provide HR reports and workforce analytics to management for informed decision-making.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
• Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) O Levels.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Psychology, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
• Professional membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of work experience in management or similar position.
• Strong understanding of Zambian labour laws and employment regulations.
5.0 HUMAN RESOURCE AND ADMINISTRATION OFFICER

• Conduct performance appraisals and provide feedback to employees.
• Administer compensation, payroll, and benefits management.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll and benefits.
• Maintain and oversee administrative services to support operational efficiency.
• Oversee workplace safety, security, and compliance with occupational health regulations.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
• Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) O Levels.
• Diploma in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.

6.0 SENIOR PROCUREMENT OFFICER
The Senior Procurement Officer is responsible for managing procurement processes, ensuring compliance with procurement regulations, and optimizing supply chain operations. The role involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing procurement budgets, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services to support operational efficiency. This position reports to the Commercial Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the entire procurement process, from requisition to contract management.
• Identify and source reliable suppliers for goods and services.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
• Conduct market research and supplier evaluations for cost-effective procurement.
• Negotiate contract terms and pricing with vendors.
• Ensure all contracts comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Manage contract renewals, amendments, and terminations effectively.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with public procurement laws, company policies, and ethical standards.
• Mitigate supply chain risks by ensuring vendor reliability and quality assurance.
• Work with the finance team to plan and control procurement budgets.
• Monitor and analyze procurement expenses to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand procurement needs.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
• Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) O Levels.
• Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional membership with the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS).
• Minimum five (5) years of work experience in a similar position.
7.0 SENIOR SALES AND MARKETING OFFICER
The Senior Sales and Marketing Officer is responsible for developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies to drive business growth and market share. The role involves managing sales operations, overseeing marketing campaigns, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Senior Sales and Marketing Officer will report to the Commercial Manager and will have a Sales and Marketing Officer reporting to them.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies to achieve business objectives.
• Oversee the sales process, from lead generation to closing deals.Manage and mentor the Sales and Marketing Officer to ensure team effectiveness.
• Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and customer needs.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
• Plan and execute marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, advertising, and promotional activities.
• Monitor and analyze sales and marketing performance metrics to optimize strategies.
• Prepare and present sales and marketing reports to the Commercial Manager.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Collaborate with internal departments to align sales and marketing efforts with overall business goals.
