JOB DETAILS:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Lead to join our company and play a key role in driving revenue growth and expanding Mukuru’s presence in Zambia. In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for generating sales through the agent army by providing guidance on corridor champions. You will also market the enterprise and corporate products, as well as all other Mukuru products, through impactful marketing collateral in-country. Additionally, the Sales Lead will drive brand awareness and manage the brand across various partnerships and verticals. This role offers the chance to significantly grow transactions for products within the Zambia vertical.
Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
To oversee sales and growth targets for in-country products.
• Providing advice and guidance to the regional agent team leads.
• Analyse and monitor transaction statistics.
• Motivate and strategize on how to incentivise the agents and regional teams.
• To activate & generate leads for focus corridors.
To develop awareness of the Mukuru brand and services.
• To ensure sufficient stock of marketing collateral is available.
• Engage with potential customers and market the enterprise product.
• Custodianship of the Mukuru brand and maintenance of that standard.
Investigating feasibility of potential new corridors.
• Engaging with ex-pat communities to understand their remittance needs.
• Establish the viability of potential new corridors.
• Engage new business development and projects regarding new potential corridors.
Carry out inspections of sales agent operating sites.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly country tours of sales and agent sites.
• Conduct brand audits of partner and vertical sites.
Take responsibility for sales stock management and cost management.
• Manage the stock and marketing collateral.
• Manage the sales budget effectively.
• Monitor targets and budgets to ensure alignment.
Generate weekly reports.
• Curate weekly sales statistics.
• Gather and present location-specific information on sales.
Conduct general people management functions to ensure efficient running of the sales department.
• Liaise with HR to resolve any staff issues.
• Solve escalated queries.
• Assist with recruitment of new sales agents.
• Ensure that all staff have sufficient training before commencing employment.
Key Requirements
• Degree or equivalent (Essential)
• Sales Diploma (Desirable)
• Understanding and speaking of English, Bembe, Nyanja / other relevant language (Essential)
• 5 years of experience within a sales field
• Experience in the Financial services environment is advantageous
• 3 years of experience in managing a team of sales staff
• 1 year of experience in conducting skills gap analysis and/or training
• Knowledge of Mukuru products and services (6 months Customer Service experience)
• Knowledge of money transfer procedures
• Knowledge of FIA regulations
• Knowledge and understanding of the compliance around money transfers
• Knowledge of training and development principles
• Computer literate with good Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Time management
• Project management
