Job description:
Purpose
To enhance plant operational stability through condition monitoring technologies, providing timely asset condition reports to support reliability analysis and optimise equipment availability, maintainability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.

Process Plant Performance Assessment
• Execute and track Condition Monitoring (CM) preventive maintenance (PM) tasks daily, with feedback and reporting.
• Generate daily/weekly status reports on critical assets.
• Monitor wear rates on critical equipment (e.g., crushers, conveyors, mills) and analyze data to project life expectancy for maintenance planning.
• Ensure data integrity in the CM reporting database, verifying scope and recommendations.
• Prepare monthly reports on equipment conditions, highlighting failure modes, actions, and recommendations.
• Track CM recommendations, ensuring their inclusion in weekly maintenance schedules.
Business Analysis and Improvement
• Perform additional inspections on critical equipment during shutdowns, consolidating findings with the CM team.
• Advise Maintenance teams on equipment risk levels, applying CM technologies to assess the likelihood and severity of potential failures.
• Mentor CM team members in vibration analysis and provide timely, relevant recommendations.
• Lead the CM team to achieve 85% work order compliance, support failure analysis, and maintain documentation control.
Health, Safety, and Environment Management
• Promote compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental policies, standards, and regulations.
• Address and follow up on hazard reports, conducting regular sectional safety inspections.
• Develop and implement Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) procedures to support a zero-incident culture.
Qualifications
• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering field.
• Certification (Level I) in one or more CM technologies (e.g., Vibration Analysis, Alignment, Thermography, NDT, Machinery Lubrication) is an advantage.
• Proficiency in data analysis using Microsoft Office applications.
• Membership in the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).

Experience
• At least 3 years of hands-on maintenance and condition monitoring experience in a similar role.
• Experience with Maintenance Management Systems such as PRONTO, SAP, or Maximo MI7.
• Knowledge of various Condition Monitoring technologies and maintenance processes.

• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of and ability to apply Condition Monitoring tools and techniques.
