We are therefore inviting applications to fill the following vacant position:
PROCUREMENT MANAGER (x1) – LUSAKA .

The successful candidates will report to the Chief Financial Officer:
• Monitor trends and supplies availability to ensure best possible value for the group.
• Work closely with key internal stakeholders to determine their procurement priorities.
• Build long term mutually beneficial relationships with Suppliers.
• Constantly Scan and research environment for new suppliers.
• Research on new supplies to aid the achievement of Group Objectives.
• Tracks total costs of company purchases.
• Oversees procurement staff at HQ and at Divisions.
• Maintain good working relationships with external stakeholders (i.e. ZPPA, ZIPS and other Government entities) as well as internal stakeholders.
• Identify trends and opportunities and communicate or escalate issues as required and appropriate.
• Keeps Key stakeholders updated on emerging procurement challenges and strategic initiatives.
• Ensures that day to day procurement practices protect the Group from financial and reputational damage by ensuring procurement meets international standards on Anti Bribery and Corruption as well as anti-money laundering.
• Maintains a supplier master file for the group and by division.
• Authorize, communicate and co-ordinate all parameter changes and updates to the Supplier master file.
• Ensure that the Supplier master file data is up-to-date, accurate and its integrity remains intact with all supplier banking information updated using appropriately authorised communication from suppliers.
• Implement Group Procurement Policy and Delegation of Authorities Internal procedures relating to all procurement and report deviations therefrom.
• Ensure consistency of procurement practices across the group.
• Manage and lead the procurement staff – i.e., ensure that they have set goals/KPIs, regular one-on-one engagements and feedback, performance reviews and development plans.
• Ensure that procurement department is adequately staffed with efficient, multi-skilled and adaptable employees in conjunction with HR/Administration when interviewing, selecting and training employees
• Skills and knowledge sharing: Support and guides team members in compliance with Group processes; policies and procedures and with keeping abreast of latest procurement related technical accounting; legislative and reporting requirements.
• Annually, provides senior management with summary of impact of Annual National Budget on procurement costs and practices of the group.

This job is particularly suitable for candidates who meet the following requirements: –
• Grade 12 Certificate
• Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or Professional Procurement qualification
• 5 years hands on Procurement experience.
• 3 years supervisory/management experience.
• Membership of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
• High level of business acumen, evidenced street smartness.
• Working knowledge of procurement trends.
• Good judgement and good decision-making ability
• Ability to work in pressured and deadline-driven operating environment
• Expert in multi-tasking, time management and planning of work
