Kitwe City Council wishes to recruit eleven (11) part-time Planning Inspectors.
JOB OVERVIEW
The work of part-time Planning Inspectors will be to assist the Senior Building Inspector in undertaking development control according to the provisions of the Urban and Regional Planning Act No.3 of 2015. .

Responsibilities and Duties
To undertake day to day inspection of developments in the area of jurisdiction of the respective local planning authority. The specific job description includes among other things:
• Undertake day to day inspection of developments in the district
• Read and interpret layout and building plans as related to construction projects
• Interpret the site and block plans in relation to proposed developments
• Verify whether a building has planning permission
• Assigning of housing numbers
• And any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
REPORTS TO
The part-time planning inspector will report to a designated Senior Building Inspector

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• A grade twelve (12) school certificate
• A post-grade twelve (12) school certificate or tertiary certificate in a field related to spatial planning e.g Urban and Regional Planning, Construction, Geography, Development Studies, Surveying, Real Estate Management and Architecture.
