JOB DETAILS:
BUSINESS AND LIVELIHOOD OFFICERS (2)
Purpose of the Position: To coordinate the implementation of economic empowerment programmes for target households of children withdrawn and prevented from child labour. The job holder will ensure the Self Help Group (SHG) Model, Agriculture and Livestock programmes are implemented according to the work plan to improve the livelihoods and economic status of target households. He/She will report to the Project Manager and will work in close collaboration with the Project Officer, DCLCs and CCLCs. There are two persons required for this position, and one Business and Livelihood Officer will be based in Chipata and the other in Nkeyema District.

Key Responsibilities for Business and Livelihood Officer:
The key responsibilities of the Project Business and Livelihood Officer will include, but are not limited to:
• Work closely with DCLC and CCLC in the identification and assessment of households to be supported economically.
• Spearhead the development of capacity development plans for SHGs and households.
• Facilitate trainings of CFs in Self Help Group model and roll-out including the formation of groups.
• Facilitate trainings for households and SHGs in agriculture and small livestock production.
• Facilitate capacity building training and mentorship for households and SHGs in financial management, business and entrepreneurship.
• Facilitate capacity building trainings and mentorship for households and SHGs in agriculture and small livestock production.
• Organize experience sharing and learning sessions among Self Help Groups and households; documentation of best practices and information sharing with key stakeholders and partners.
• Facilitate linkages for SHGs to Micro-Finance services and products; including value chain and markets for agriculture and livestock products.
• Work together with M&E Officer in monitoring the performance of SHGs and Income Generation Enterprises for households.
• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports and provide analysis and recommendation on SHGs and households supported economically.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience for Business and Livelihood Officer
• A Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Agriculture or Social Science is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in Self Help Group, agriculture and livestock empowerment programmes.
• Strong change management, results-oriented, and decision-making skills.
• Flexibility and ability to handle multiple tasks and work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders.
• Must have excellent communication and facilitation skills.
• Ability to work under minimum supervision to meet short-term deadlines.
• Commitment and drive to achieve challenging goals and problem-solving.
• Excellent skills in oral and written communications.
• Ability to work under tight timelines, including following deadlines, and attention to detail.
• Must have excellent interpersonal, analytical, networking and engagement skills.
• Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment and functional teams.
• Computer skills inclusive of Word a PowerPoint and Excel.
