JOB DETAILS:
Installation and maintenance of hardware and software in the university in order to ensure smooth operation of computer systems and networks.

Principal Accountabilities:
• Undertake the installation of up to date software and hardware for supporting smooth operations in the university,
• Comply with disaster recovery procedures and maintain standards in line with current technological requirements in order to facilitate quick system recovery.
• Carry out periodic research & development activities in software & hardware support in order to provide up to date ICT services
• Carry out regular maintenance of all ICT installations in order to enhance their usage
• Make timely preparations, presentations & implementations of action plans/budgets in order to facilitate the attainment of set objectives & resources mobilization for all ICT related items
• Installation & maintenance of network resources such as servers, routers & switches

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
• Grade 12 School Certificate or its equivalent which should include English Language and Mathematics
• A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent
• Microsoft/Linux Certification
• Firewall and Computer Security certification
• Knowledge of Students records systems
• Sound knowledge of SQL databases and virtualisation technologies
• Certification in Networking will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in various ICT environments preferably in a higher institution of learning
• Possess proof of membership to a professional association or organisation;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
