JOB DETAILS:
The District Development Coordinators will be responsible for ensuring improved quality of, access to, and demand for integrated health services and information for women, adolescents and children at the community, health facility and health system levels to address sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), particularly for women and adolescent girls. S/he will be responsible for carrying out the projects’ activities in the 3 districts of Chadiza, Mambwe and Kasenengwa, in liaison with partners to achieve the pre-set targets, and compile relevant reports in a timely manner. In line with the organization’s policy the positions will be assigned any other duties as deemed fit by the supervisor.

Specific Deliverables, Responsibilities and Tasks
• Support program planning, management, implementation and monitoring of project activities in the 3 districts – Chadiza, Mambwe and Kasenengwa.
• In liaison with M&E Coordinator, prepare timely analytical and critical progress reports including recommendations for improvements in operation and the scope of the project;
• Reporting on the indicators in the M&E framework for the Project
• Training of Out of School adolescents in an array of project domains including life skills, sexual and reproductive rights,
• Organizing and facilitating community dialogues to make adolescent sexual and reproductive, and gender issues visible and acceptable
• Coordinate and the conducting of trainings for the local Health Care Providers (HCP) to improve the quality of ASHRH service delivery
• Conduct supportive visits to health facilities and communities to offer technical support and document project stories (success stories)
• Integration of gender equality and girls and women’s empowerment within the project outputs/outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with CARE policies, criteria and procedures with respect to project implementation;
• Develop innovative ways of addressing gender attitudes and norms that negatively affect girls and women participation
• Perform any other duties as required for the success of the program
• Ensure planning, coordination and integration of ASHRH in all project activities.
• Work closely with the other NGOs and Government partners, including the community members to strengthen partnerships;
• Assist in developing strategies and policy guidance for ASHRH capacity building that would enable the program record impact to girls and women empowerment
• Develop and Promote mechanisms for integrating ASHRH and gender across all project activities
• In consultation with the supervisor and CO management, seek ways to influence district ASHRH policy and advocacy work.
• Support HCP, partners, and communities’ effort in improving access to quality ASHRH services by girls and women
• Develop innovative ways of making ASHRH project activities visible in most national events at the district level.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills
• Diploma in health-related studies with at least five years’ experience.
• BSc Degree in social sciences, Public Health or any other related field with at least three years work experience will be an added advantage.
• Experience in implementing ASHRH programmes including advocacy in development settings.
• Good knowledge of the right to health, gender and women empowerment programmes and guidelines.
• Experience in managing health projects in fast-paced contexts or working with communities will be an added advantage.
• Experience working with and engaging government.
• Excellent training and coaching skills.
• Commitment to capacity building of partners and beneficiaries.
• Ability to influence and persuade in difficult situations
• Knowledge of use of computers essential, including word processing and, spreadsheets
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good analytical and negotiating skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and coordinate with a variety of partners and stakeholders, maintaining harmonious and productive working relationships
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
