JOB DETAILS:
JOB PURPOSE: To undertake the provision of quality legal metrology services to industry and the public in order to ensure compliance to set standards for fair trade, consumer protection, safety, health and Environmental Management. .

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES (MAIN DUTIES)
• Ensures safe keeping and proper usage of station working standards in order to maintain accuracy of measuring instruments and standards.
• Undertake timely type approval of weighing and measuring instruments used in commercial transactions, law enforcement and management of health, safety and environment in order to achieve conformity to national regulations.
• Undertake effectively, the statutory verifications of weighing and measuring instruments used in commercial transactions, law enforcement and management of health safety and environment in order to ensure compliance to set regulations for fair trade, consumer protection, safety, health and Environmental Management.
• Undertake effectively the statutory inspections of pre-packaged commodities and measuring instruments in order to enforce regulations for fair trade, consumer protection, safety, health and Environmental Management.
• Undertakes effectively the assessment of Technicians and Institutions involved in manufacturing, repair, installation, maintenance and sale of all regulated measuring instruments, measures and artifacts in order to facilitate licensing.
