The USAID DISCOVER-Health project aims to improve the lives of Zambians by ensuring equitable access to and use of high-quality HIV, maternal new-born and child health (MNCH), family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) services and products at the district and community levels. The project utilizes and sustains a health model that maximizes the relative strengths of the public and private sectors to deliver health products and services that reach all beneficiaries and consumer markets.

JSI USAID DISCOVER Health Project is recruiting for the following position:
Position: Vaccination Providers x 38
Position Type: Full Time
Location: All Districts of Copperbelt, North Western, Central and Northern Provinces
Internal Reporting: District Coordinator
External Reporting: Health Facility In-Charge

Job purpose
The Vaccination Provider (VP) will be part of the USAID DISCOVER-Health and MOH service delivery team tasked with the responsibility of administering COVID-19 vaccinations in a given district. The combined team will provide quality vaccination services at established health facilities, in congregate settings and community level, including through door-to-door outreach visits.

Duties/Responsibilities
The Vaccine Provider’s duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Translating operational targets for COVID-19 vaccination for the supported health facilities to actual vaccination service delivery
• Operationalize deployment and administration via static, outreach, and/or door-to-door approaches as may be required
• Arrange for smooth flow of clients and ensure that vaccine seeking crowds are well managed
• Work with the team to ensure screening, recording and entry of COVID-19 vaccination data onto the health management information system (HMIS) is conducted
• Ensure that all consumables required for vaccination are in place to facilitate an uninterrupted deployment and administration of COVID-19 vaccinations in given districts/catchment areas
• Work with team members to improve knowledge and demand for COVID vaccination
• Work with the Health Centre In-Charge to conduct periodic performance review meetings in COVID-19 vaccination, and use emerging information to inform strategy implementation
• Manage the supply of vaccines and other needed commodities in keeping with the cold chain and pharmaceutical supply chain management standards
• Working closely with the Health Centre In-Charges, provide leadership to part time vaccine providers and the data entry team members in designated catchment areas to ensure provision of quality vaccination services

Required Qualifications and Competencies
• Diploma in Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery or equivalent
• At least one (1) year experience working in clinical settings at health facility/hospital
• Competencies in general outpatient/inpatient service provision, and ability to administer parenteral medication/vaccines desirable

Required Skills
• Ability to support facilitation of learning
• Ability to lead a dynamic team involved in health service delivery at site and/or community level
• Sound clinical, analytical, written, and oral communication skills
• Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Team player, Result-oriented and Self-starter

Work Hours: 8


Experience in Months: 12

Level of Education:
Associate Degree
