JOB DETAILS:
• We are looking for skilled bricklayers to be responsible for constructing brick work for a building. The bricklayers must be able to read and analyze building plans, check specifications, determine the most accurate layout and mark guidelines. You should also be able to mix motar powder, sand, cement and water correctly to obtain an acceptable consistency.
• To be a successful bricklayer, you should be detail oriented and display the necessary knowledge and skill to build walls, houses or other building structures. Ultimately, a top notch bricklayer should maintain a high standard of workmanship with safety and precision.

Responsibilities:
1. Analysing and interpreting building plans
2. Interpreting work orders and determining the materials required
3. Measuring distance from reference points
4. Calculating angles and determining the vertical and Horizontal alignment of courses
5. Laying brick using mortar as a binder and trowel to level
6. Fastening bricks with wire clamps or cement
7. working safely on scaffolds and swing stages at various heights
8. Using equipment’s and tools effectively to perform basic construction tasks

Requirements
• Grade 12 school certificate
• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or a minimum of 3 years experience as a bricklayer
• Good communication skills
• Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination
• Valid silicosis certificate
• Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in bricklaying and the construction of buildings
• Problem solving ability
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
