Position Summary:
• We are looking for Four (04) Professional Housekeepers who are able to attend to our facilities with integrity and attention to detail. The goal is to create an ambience, clean. serene, safe, secure and an orderly environment for our esteem clientele. We envision and strive to maintain our reputation, strengthen our reputation and deliver above our guests’ expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, etc
Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to the hospitality industry’s best standards
Protect equipment, appliances and make sure there are no inadequacies
Notify superiors on any damages, deficits, theft and disturbances
Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism, patience and refer any complex matters to the Manager
Check stocking levels of all room consumables and replace when appropriate
Adhere strictly to rules regarding health, security and safety and be aware of any company-related practices
Work hand in hand with the Front of the House (Reception) and obtains lists of vacant rooms to be cleaned immediately & list of prospective checkouts in order to prepare work assignments.
Maintains clear and efficient communication and coordination with other departments of the Lodge such as the Front Desk, Maintenance, Laundry & Restaurant as regards guests orders or requests.
Undertakes cleaning for lobby area, public restrooms, hallways, entrances, storerooms, changing rooms, offices, etc.
Schedules periodic major cleaning plans including cleaning of walls, scrubbing of floors, tiles, cleaning of windows, fly screen rails, etc.
Schedules sanitary bin collection for all the guest rooms and public areas.
Assist in inventories, cleaning supplies, room amenities & linen stock to ensure adequate and continuous supplies.
Participates in the monthly stock take and ensures it is accurate and that it is submitted before deadline, considering all the unusable i.e. stained and/or damaged.
Advises the Front Office and the Manager on rooms ready for occupancy and that needs repair or maintenance.
Submit all housekeeping related reports before ending his/her shift.
Maintain high quality of housekeeping standards in: 1) the guest rooms 2) linens and uniforms 3) lost and found procedures 4) laundry and 5) public area.
Routine checks for vacant, arrival and occupied guests rooms with the use of a checklist.
Ensures all maintenance works are recorded and communicated to the Manager and Maintenance team and making follow ups.
Attends periodic staff meetings with other department staff to discuss institution or company policies and guests’ complaints, feedback and suggestions on improving service delivery and ensure more efficient operation.
Collect feedback forms and convey to Lodge Manager through the Front Desk.
Perform any other assignments as assigned from time to time by the Manager.
Requirements And Skills
• Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent
Diploma/Certifcate in General Hospitality Management.
Diploma/Certificate in House Keeping is a definite advantage.
Trade or Craft Certificate in Plumbing, Electrical, Capentry or a combination of these skills is a definite plus.
Minimum of 1 years proven experience as a Housekeeper or Room Attendant in a reputable Hotel/Lodge.
Hands-on experience with cleaning and maintenance tasks for large organisations.
Ability to work with minimum supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
Computer literate is added advantage.
Customer-oriented, courteous and friendly.
Prioritization and time management skills and ability to multitask.
Working quickly without compromising quality and with high level of confidentiality.
Able to operate cleaning equipment, basic house-keeping tools and product.
Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job and able to work for long hours and on weekends and public holidays.
