JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
• To enforce the Tobacco Act No. 10 of 2022 of the laws of Zambia to ensure that growers, merchants and all stakeholders throughout the tobacco value chain (production. marketing, processing, export and trade) adhere to the statutory regulations. To provide agronomic technical advice to the tobacco growers.

Job Accountabilities (Key Outputs)
Regulatory Compliance
• Provisions of the Tobacco Act No. 10 of 2022 are enforced through tobacco inspections of tobacco nurseries, fields, curing facilities, warehouses and ensure that stakeholders comply with applicable statutes.
• Collaborate with relevant authorities within the operations area to address non- compliance issues and implement corrective actions.

Recruited Farmers
Recruitment and registration of Tobacco farmers according to statutory regulations and the tobacco register is updated and maintained.
Investigated Facilities
Inspection of all premises, lands, buildings or vehicles being used in production, storage, grading, processing or sale of tobacco and ensure that they conform to the provisions of the law.
Technical Advice
Provide technical agronomical advice to tobacco growers on matters pertaining to tobacco production processes in collaboration with the tobacco industry stakeholders, ensuring that the growers produce a high-quality tobacco in a sustainable manner.
Production Information
Through inspections and grower visitations, provide tobacco production projections and used in decision making.

Reporting
• Collect and maintain accurate data on tobacco production, marketing, and compliance levels within the operation area.
• Prepare comprehensive reports on tobacco production, marketing and trade detailing inspection findings, trends, and recommendations for improvement and submitted to supervisor.

Job Specification
Education and Experience
• Full Grade 12 Certificate with 5 O’ levels, with credits or better
• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, or Agronomy.
• Atleast minimum of three (3) years of proven and practical experience in agriculture sector, preferably in the tobacco industry.
• Knowledge of tobacco production practices, tobacco marketing. quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
• Must be able to work in a rural farm setup
• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in the field.
• Preferably the candidates should be aged between 25 and 35 years old.
