Our work environment is dynamic, fostering innovation, and intellectual growth, and we are currently seeking six meticulous Transcribers for a Study on Labor Trafficking.
Job Description:
As a Transcriber at IRED-Global, you will play a crucial role in our data analysis process, transforming various audio content into high-quality written formats. Your work will directly contribute to our comprehensive research study and influence data-driven policy changes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Accurately transcribe audio recordings from interviews, discussions, and other research activities into written documents.
• Verify the integrity of the original audio content, ensuring all transcriptions are an exact representation with correct grammar and punctuation.
• Collaborate with the research team to clarify any ambiguous dialogue or unclear audio segments.
• Manage a secure database of audio files and transcriptions, ensuring strict confidentiality and adherence to the company’s data privacy protocols.
• Meet strict deadlines to ensure the smooth progression of research analysis and reporting phases.
• Occasionally assist in editing and preparing transcripts for publication or presentation.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Communication, Journalism, or a related field. Candidates with a strong language background without a degree may be considered.
• Minimum of 1-year experience in professional transcription or a similar role.
• Exceptional attention to detail and understanding of confidentiality requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and familiar with transcription software and equipment.
• Excellent command of English language and grammar.
• Ability to work under strict deadlines and manage time efficiently.
• Strong typing skills (speed and accuracy).
Desirable:
• Previous experience in academic or research transcription.
• Excellent command of Lozi, Nyanja or Tonga
• Knowledge of labour trafficking in Southern Africa.
