JOB DETAILS:
The Patents and Companies Registration Agency (PACRA) is a Government Agency established to discharge functions connected with or incidental to eight statutes namely: The Companies Act - CAP 388; The Registration of Business Names Act - CAP 389; The Patents Act - CAP 400; The Trade Marks Act - CAP 401; and The Registered Designs Act - CAP 402, The Layout-designs of Integrated Circuits Act number 6 of 2006, The Protection of Traditional Knowledge, Genetic Resources and Expressions of Folklore Act Number 16 of 2016 and The Movable Property (Security Interest) Act No. 3 of 2016 of the Laws of Zambia.
The Institution is looking for suitably qualified candidates to fill the positions mentioned below.
ACCOUNTANT (SALARY SCALE: P3)
JOB PURPOSE
To supervise and undertake all management accounting functions in the Finance department in order to ensure proper use and accountability of public funds.
The successful candidate will report to the Chief Financial Officer. .

Job Responsibilities:
a) Ensures timely preparation and submission of financial statements;
b) Budget preparation and budgetary control;
c) Ensure adherence to internal controls;
d) Ensures that all assets are properly managed;
e) Manage the general ledger and oversee month and year end closure procedures;
f) Management of accounting systems;
g) Coordinates effectively all external audit activities;
h) Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts;
i) Supervise and manage the stores function;
j) To conduct performance appraisals for all staff under direct supervision;
k) Perform other accounting duties as required or assigned.

Job Skills:
a) Knowledge of working with Sage Evolution ERP;
b) Advanced knowledge of Excel;
c) Strong problem solving and analytical skills;
d) Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment;
e) Strong report writing, interpersonal and communication skills;

Job Qualifications:
a) Full Grade 12 Certificate;
b) Full ACCA/CIMA/ZICA/Degree in Accounting or its equivalent;
c) ZICA membership (minimum of Associate);
d) Aged between 30 and 40 years;
e) A minimum of three (3) years post qualifying experience in a similar middle management role.
