JOB DETAILS:
Main Purpose of the Job
To manage the accounts department, financial strategy, controls and reporting to ensure that Guardian Insurance Brokers Limited remains financially viable and profitable using generally accepted accounting standards to achieve the company’s strategy.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer

Key Performance Area (Objectives)
• Internal controls and compliance
• Conducting sanity checks and delivery of financial reports
• Budget and budgetary control
• Timely Preparation of PIA returns
• Timely premium remittance to respective insurance companies
• Reconciliations
• Payroll preparation
• Stakeholder management and relationships
• Any other accounting assignments

Job Qualifications/Experience
• Full ACCA, CIMA, CA Zambia or equivalent – Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the similar role

Skills/Competencies
1. Knowledge of the insurance industry
2. Strong and practical knowledge of accounting software systems such as pastel is a must
3. Ability to exceed set targets
4. Sound business acumen, resourceful and good analytical skills
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
6. Ability to lead, manage and develop staff
7. Proper time management
8. Valid driver’s license

Membership/Affiliations
• Member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA)
