JOB DETAILS:
MAIN JOB PURPOSE
To assist in providing timely and accurate accounting information on the Organisations Payables and other Liabilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Daily processing of Supplier invoices for goods purchased and received
• Ensure that Invoices processed correspond to approved Local Purchase Orders, GRVs and Supplier Invoices and have been verified by security.
• Ensure correct accounting for VAT for Supplier invoices processed.
• Ensure correct accounting for VAT for Supplier invoices processed.
• Liaise with stores daily to ensure all goods received are entered in the system and on the daily stock movement report.
• Ensure that Accounts Payables Reconciliations are done, and payable ledgers are accurate and up to date to facilitate efficiency and effectiveness in settlement of outstanding invoices.
• Ensure payments terms are adhered to for suppliers.
• Prepare weekly/monthly supplier payment plans and ensure strict adherence.
• Ensure statements are received from suppliers prior to payment.
• Ensure appropriate levels of accruals are in place and posted monthly.
• Ensure Sub-ledgers are reconciled to the GL File all payment vouchers in respective files Produce a monthly intercompany transaction report by 3" following the end of the month Prepare the Payroll for Unionised Employees and capture the journals in pastel.
• Assist in the preparation of accurate financial statements
• Assists various departments in accounting issues and queries.
• Undertakes any other relevant duties assigned by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Grade 12 School Certificate with five credits including
• Maths and English
• Diploma in accounting
• ACCA/CIMA level 2 /CA Diploma
• Registered Member of the Zambia Institute of
• Chartered Accountants
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in a similar position
• Experience in an accounting firm will be an added advantage.
