Role Description
This is a consultancy Agronomist role based in Ndola with flexibility for remote work. As an Agronomist, you will provide expert guidance and strategic consultation in the area of agricultural gypsum and related products. You will be responsible for conducting research, analyzing soil and plant nutrition, implementing irrigation systems, and providing expertise in agriculture. You will also market agricultural gypsum, generate leads, collect and analyze market data, build customer relationships, and offer insights on industry trends and new products. Working closely with the team, you will optimize product efficiency and contribute to enhancing crop yields and soil health.

Key Responsibilities:
• Market agricultural gypsum to small- and large-scale farmers as well as fertilizer retail distributors.
• Generate leads and target farmers and fertilizer distributors.
• Gather and analyze marketing data on products, competitors, and customers.
• Build and maintain customer relationships.
• Provide industry news and keep the sales team informed about new products and research developments.
• Develop and implement customer crop plans, including fertility and seed portfolios.
• Analyze crop conditions and report on customer delivery based on these conditions.
• Scout fields and collect soil samples for technical analysis and recommendations.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agronomy, Soil Science, or related field.
• Proven working experience as a Sales Agronomist or in a related agricultural sales role, with a minimum of 5-7 years in agricultural sales or agronomy consulting.
• Strong knowledge and experience in Soil Science and Agriculture.
• Expertise in Irrigation systems and Plant Nutrition.
• Competence in using relevant software and technology for data analysis and reporting.
• Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong analytical skills for gathering and interpreting market data and crop conditions.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• In-depth knowledge of agricultural industry trends and best practices.
