ROLE
The Role of the aluminum fitter is to safely install Aluminium and Glass Frames, Frameless Glass, Skylights, Facades, hardware, Glazing, and waterproofing internally and externally to buildings in the Construction industry, always abiding by the building regulations, health and safety Codes to assist Rapid Aluminium to fulfill their mission of being the best Aluminium Fenestration Company in Zambia by providing safe and reliable support and installations.
REPORTING STRUCTURE/RELATIONSHIP
Reporting to the Aluminium Charge Hand and / or the installations Manager, the Aluminium Fitter is to assist Rapid Aluminium to fulfill their mission of being the best Aluminium Fenestration Company in Zambia by providing safe and reliable support and installations. .

  Job Responsibilities:
Labelling, marking Measurements and installation tracking
1. 1. To ensure that all openings are safely and correctly labelled on site to correspond with the Final accepted quotation, Tracking program and or Bill of Quantities.
2. 2. To ensure that all measurements are safely measured “View from outside” always, always taking a minimum of 3x width and 3x Height measurements. All measurements to be recorded in the designated RAL measurement book, inclusive of frame design, and specifications such as colour, glass type, flyscreens’, hardware detail, finished floor levels.
3. 3. To ensure that the program tracking document is up dated daily on site and at the workshop.
On Site Fabrication and Installation
1. All Aluminium Frames are to be cut, fabricated and assembled as per HBS assembly guidelines in accordance with practical installation techniques as per drawings provided by RAL.
2. All water proofing of frame joints / connections to be adhered to at all times.
3. All installations are to be done with the correct Personal protective Equipment (PPE) utilized, ensuring site / workplace safety, and installations to be done efficiently without damage to profiles, glass, hardware and site.
4. All frames to be installed and properly water proofed with Acrylic and Red Reveal sealant. All materials and glass must be safely stored on site away from any potential possibilities of damage or breakages.
5. Prior to assembling any piece of Aluminium, fabricators must read and fully comprehend assembly instructions, such as cutting schedules, drawing details and sketches. They must then go over the list of parts to be assembled, ensuring that each is accounted for. Based on specifications, fabricators assemble the Aluminium, taking measurements, repositioning parts and making sure each part is properly fitted and secured. In addition to assembling the Aluminium, fabricators identify any errors or malfunctions. When such inefficiencies are identified, fabricators make repairs and troubleshoot to the best of their ability.
6. Experience in installing frameless glass showers, skylights, Glass to glass installations, hulabond cladding, curtain walls, stacking doors folding / foldaside doors.
Product Management
1. Profile Management and accountability of all Aluminium profiles, offcuts, hardware, consumables, glass and Gaskets.
2. Aluminium Frame Management and accountability of all Aluminium profiles, offcuts, hardware, consumables, glass and Gaskets.
3. Management of all Goods received Notes for all items delivered to site by the company
4. To correctly record all product receivables and returns back to the workshop.
5. To maintain written records of all customer client meetings / discussions.
6. To create space and ensure all aluminium profiles, offcuts, hardware, consumables and gaskets are kept neatly in their designated areas and packed away promptly once received on site.
Optimization
1. To manage the Optimization of all profiles in order to identify any shortfalls in materials and obtain the best.
2. To optimize on all consumables for all Installations and request all consumables at 1630hrs every day from Stores via WhatsApp.
Hardware
1. To account for and install all hardware as per quotation, tender or BOQ.
2. To safely keep all customer keys.
3. To ensure all hardware is packed in order and stored in a tidy weatherproof environment.
4. To handover all damaged / and or replaced hardware back to the client
