About AKA:
AKA is a registered National Non-Government Organization (NGO) operating under the Rwanda Governance Board (RGB) certificate No 66/RGB/NGO/2016.AKA’s mission is providing Rwandan youth with employability skills, capital and support to take advantage of economic opportunities. Currently, AKA is implementing multiple donor’s projects.

DUTIES
The Alumni Networks and Job Placement Coordinator is responsible for coordinating project effort to assess labor market demand and engage private sector organizations in project activities. S/he will help the project in identifying and implementing new Public/Private Partnership (PPPS).S/he is also responsible in development and implementation of alumni strategy and ensures successful networks of AKA youth graduates. This position is based in Kigali and report to the AKA Deputy Director in Charge of Programs.

Essential function include [but are not limited to]:

• Partners mapping (Private Sector, Govt, Donors, etc.)
• Selection of suitable AKA partners
• Partners engagement workshops
• Development of MoUs Partners coordination,
• Organize and Coordinated Stakeholders meetings
• AKA membership and affiliation to relevant serving platforms/network
• Coordinate Alumni advisory committees activities
• Responsible for coordinating projects efforts to assess labor market demand and engage private sector organizations in project activities
• Support and assist local partners efforts to identify internships and work placements for program graduates
• Identify and reach out to private companies with workforce needs/human resources needs matching AKA graduates skills
• Coordinate training of private companies on internship management tool
• Conduct regular interactions with private companies /employers to understand their needs
• Participate in team work plan and strategy development.
• Develop marketing campaign with both the alumni network and businesses leaders
• Coordinate the AKA alumni network, working with AKA staff and implementing partners (IPs) in identifying relevant activities for the network, including connecting Alumni employers to new AKA graduates.
• Conduct tracer surveys to identify wage and self-employment among Alumni
• Maintain Alumni Database
• Work with Database Administrator to organize the database of Alumni in a friendly user way
• Coordinate activities; and assess further needs of AKA Alumni for job and/or entrepreneurship support, etc.
• Identify existing services and programs relevant to AKA develop referral systems for alumni
• Assist in developing HD alumni strategy.
• Build capacity of IPs in alumni network establishment:
• Conduct field monitoring to IPs to ensure alumni are fully operational: AKA lead here
• Coordinate alumni ambassadors’ bi-annual meetings.
• Organize an award competition for alumni

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Management and Business Studies, Social Science or equivalent with 3 years relevant experience;
• Experience working with private sector and youth serving NGOs.
•  Verbal and written skills in English and Kinyarwanda
