KCM SmelterCo Limited a subsidiary of Konkola Copper Mines Plc (KCM Plc) is one of the largest copper and cobalt processing companies in Zambia. It operates an underground mine in Nampundwe, a refinery in Kitwe, and a crushing & milling plant, a tailings leach plant and a state of the art smelter in Chingola. To support this vision KCM SmelterCo Limited would like to recruit experienced and qualified individuals for the above position at Nkana Refinery and Nampundwe Mine.

Job Purpose
Carryout all electrical installations, repairs and maintenance of equipment in the section.

Main Roles & Responsibilities will include:
• Examine electrical equipment in the plant to determine faults and state of repair.
• Diagnoses the state of electrical repair of plant, and determine where necessary what parts and materials are required to effect repairs. .
• Ensure the use of right tools for the job at all times and tidy maintenance of tools and equipment after completion of task.
• Follow safe working procedures to minimize accidents and personal injury
• Adhere to all statutory safety requirements relating to the job
• Maintain good self-discipline and industrial relations

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
• Grade 12 School Certificate
• Craft Certificate – Electrical
• At least 3 years practical experience in mining related operations
• Competency in high voltage switching and cable jointing
• Innovative, self-starter and good team player
• Must be ready to work underground and odd hours whenever need arises
• Member of Engineering Institute of Zambia

Level of Education: Professional Certificate
