JOB DETAILS:
We seek a suitably qualified individual to fill the above position to be based in Lusaka at Head office.
Job Purpose;
• Preparation and timely submission of management accounts, monthly financial statements and other relevant reports by ensuring accurate, correct and complete transaction processing into the company’s accounting system in an effective and efficient manner.
Specific Summary Duties and Responsibilities
• Maintain cash books and ensure accurate and timely posting of cash movements, Western Union Activities and other journal transactions in the Pastel System
• Preparation of the monthly Bank Reconciliation Statement
• Assist in preparation of annual budgets and cash flow forecasting
• Accountable for the day to day management and supervision on adherence to procurement, accounting, filling and reconciliations policies and procedures.
• Monthly float management through spearheading stocktakes in the company’s retail outlets
• Ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance & reporting; ZRA and VAT returns
• Management of the relationship with suppliers and creditors
• Raising of rent invoices for sublets and sending them to relevant clients
• Preparing and processing payment vouchers to customers and suppliers
• Managing the company’s petty cash and summary reports across it´s branch network
• Maintaining and updating the fixed asset register record
• Provide quality output of weekly and monthly reports
• Perform general administrative tasks and other related duties as assigned by the Head of Accounts
To be considered for this position, you must have the following qualifications, experience and character traits.
Qualifications and Experience
• Professional qualification – Degree in Accounting or finance, Part/full ACCA, CIMA, ZICA or equivalent
• At least 3-5 years working experience in retail or FMCG with a proven track record of success in managing Finance and Accounts systems
• Computer literacy; Proficiency in Excel and PASTEL
• Excellent troubleshooting ability, supporting profitability and company performance
• Must have integrity with good communication, reporting and organizational skills
• Must be a member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
