Job Summary
The job holder will be required to assist the ICT Manager in managing the organisational data needs and will be responsible for planning, designing, implementation of database structures, handling troubleshooting of data corruption and ensuring that procedures for database administration and recovery are in place and adhered to. Knowledge of Oracle 11g/12c, Oracle RAC and Golden Gate will be required. .
Key Accountabilities
• Design, implement and maintain databases to meet user requirements;
• Ensure that the structure and placement of all data is understood and well documented;
• Design and maintain database administration procedures and manuals;
• Perform database replication between separated sites for business continuity;
• Implement and maintain database audit trails on user activities and privileges, as required;
• Perform regular performance monitoring of databases, fine tuning and correct performance problems;
• Proactively manage data and system integrity, confidentiality and security;
• Ensure that system backups are performed, verified, and that data restoration procedures and processes are in place and adhered to;
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by the IT Manager
Knowledge, Skills, Attributes and Related Competences
• Knowledge in Golden Gate Replication.
• Knowledge of Windows, Oracle and MS SQL
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux systems
• Knowledge of Oracle Weblogic, Apache Tomcat 3.2.5 Knowledge of Java, PHP or C# added advantage
• Experience with multiple technology domains including
• aspects of database administration, software development
• and networking
• Ability to work under pressure and result oriented.

• Proactive, hands-on, results-driven orientation required.
• Ability to blend exceptional attention to detail with an

Minimum Requirements
Academic and Professional Qualifications
• Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or General Certificate of Education
• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information
• Technology or equivalent
• Certified Oracle Database Administrator with knowledge in
• MySQ, SQLServer RDBMS.
• At least three (3) years relevant experience in ICT as
• Database Administrator,
• Strong practical experience of ORACLE in a production
• RAC(ASM) environment(Ilg).
