JOB DETAILS:
Department: Production
Reporting to: Production Manager
An opportunity has come available for our client who is a New Player in the FMCG Manufacturing Industry and is looking for a Blow Molding Operator to be based in Lusaka.
Key Deliverables
• The successful Blow Molding Operator will report directly into the Production Manager and will be responsible for setting up and operating blow molding machine to mold plastic products according to specifications. .

Duties:
• Turns valves to start flow of water and release air pressure to machine.
• Moves machine controls to set timing unit and temperature of heating unit and start automatic feed mechanism.
• Adjusts machine mandrel and aligns mandrel with mold chamber, using wrenches.
• Starts molding machine that automatically feeds material from mixing unit to mandrel and to mold chamber.
• Closes chamber to mold product under heat and pressure
• Removes workpiece from mold after timing device opens mold, and trims excess material from workpiece, using knife or bandsaw.
• Regrinds excess material and unsatisfactory workpiece of reuse, using grinding machine.
• May weigh completed workpiece to determine accuracy of machine operation.
• Comply with all safety policies
• Must have machine processing experience and plastic machine knowledge.
• This is a hands-on position which requires a very motivated individual who is able to work in a high pace manufacturing environment.
• Able to read, write and communicate in English
• Will diagnose process issues and correct
• Adjust container weight to standards, maintain correct cycle time, assist with material, color and product changes
• Adjust as needed all secondary equipment including, but not limited to machine automations, material blender systems, conveyors, grinders, etc.

Requirements
• Diploma /Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (A Degree or equivalent in a related field will be an added advantage).
• More than 6 years’ work experience in an FMCG Industry will be an added advantage
• A bias and good knowledge of both electrical and mechanical skills will be an added advantage.
• Must have thoroughly clean record
