Duties include, but are not limited to:
• To be aware of the uniform and clothing requirements of pupils.
• To organize hostel laundry, oversee the repair, alterations and dry cleaning of clothing and beddings
• Ensure safe storage of pupil belongings
• Liase with the House Parent and Resident Nurse about pupils who are unwell
• To respond to medical emergencies and routine checkup by escorting pupils
• Care, supervision, cleanliness and proper presentations of pupils in hostels
• Participate in the induction of new pupils admitted to the hostel
• Ensure pupils observe all hostel schedules including lights out
• Assist Head of Hostel to undertake the basic Health, Safety and Hygiene induction regularly
• Maintain order, discipline and respect for all
• Promote understanding of the school rules and values
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL COMPETENCIES:
• Experience in a school residential learning environment or in education
• Minimum Grade 12 certificate
• A tertiary qualification in guidance and counseling/Psychology is an advantage
DESIRABLE QUALITIES
• Possess sound written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable making decisions and be proactive problems solvers.
• Comfortable in addressing behavior, working with systems, and acting with initiative and authority.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal English skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
