Isuku Iwacu – Rwanda Rural Sanitation Activity (RRSA) is a four-year rural sanitation activity awarded on September 2, 2016 and estimated to be completed by November 9, 2020. The Activity is being executed by a consortium of Non-Governmental Organizations headed by SNV, and including World Vision International and Water for People in the following eight districts: Kayonza, Kicukiro, Ngoma, Nyabihu, Nyanza, Nyarugenge, Ruhango, and Rwamagana.
The overall goal of the Isuku Iwacu Activity is to increase local ownership and capacity to deliver sustainable, high quality sanitation and hygiene services in order to decrease childhood stunting. To accomplish this goal, Isuku Iwacu will improve access to and support correct, consistent use of household sanitation and hygiene facilities by (i) directly supporting and contributing to the Government of Rwanda (GOR) led efforts to improve access to sanitation in Rwanda, and (ii) promoting districtwide, private sector-driven household sanitation and hygiene interventions and on district- and national-level capacity development.
Acting as a market facilitator to ensure private sector-driven outcomes, Isuku Iwacu works and supports local businesses and financial institutions in product development, marketing, and delivery of sanitation products and services that can be affordable and accessible to all consumers in the targeted villages.


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education

  • Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in Finance, Master’s degree in Economics or related field or an equivalent combination of relevant experience or training
    Work Experience and requirements
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in business development.
  • Proven commitment to managing contractors, client expectations, and design, monitor and secure the timeline completion of detailed calendar of activities with specific assignments and targets to ensure the delivery of all expected tasks.
  •  Proven ability to negotiate and rally business actors, banks and/or micro-finance institutions to promote consumers’ access to affordable products in immature or emerging markets.
  • Experience in negotiating and establishing public, private, partnerships
  • Proven experience facilitating learning opportunities for SMEs in financial literacy, business plan development to strengthen market positions and attracting local investors.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and a strong track record in prioritizing and meeting deliverables and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and detail-oriented, with a proactive planning and execution, problem solver skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to target districts.
  • Strong working knowledge of English (spoken and written).
