Job Description
• Our multinational client who provides specialty chemicals focused on delivering sustainable solutions for water-intensive industries, including consumer, industrial, institutional, food and beverage, and pool and spa water markets requires an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team in Zambia. Reporting to the District Manager for Central Africa, you will primarily be responsible for driving business growth through strategic planning, sales, prospecting for new clients, account management of existing selected customers and developing business opportunities within specific markets such as mining.
Responsibilities;
• Prospect for new clients and manage prospects effectively whilst making contacts within the allocated targets and markets.
• Work with support groups to establish, maintain and prioritize an accurate and current prospect list.
• Targeting new business opportunities specifically in Central Africa.
• Retain accounts by developing and maintaining ongoing relationships with key decision-makers and managing the required communication protocols at customer sites.
• Managing existing accounts as allocated by ensuring satisfaction and ongoing profitability.
• Ensure growth and development of new applications and opportunities on new and existing customers sites.
• Establish effective account management processes and skills designed to deliver and exceed customer expectations.
• Maintain the highest safety standards to ensure there are no incidents or accidents in the working environment.
• Provide professional on-site service work to customers including water analysis and testing as required, ensuring water treatment programs are controlled according to design parameters and that performance criteria is strictly monitored and achieved.
• Work with other team members and resource groups to ensure that customer deliverables are met and maintained.
Requirements
• Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Must have at least five (5) years of working experience in the same or similar role.
• Experience handling major accounts in a B2B selling environment will be an added advantage.
• Mining industry experience mandatory.
• Experience in water or related industry will be an added advantage.
• Possess knowledge and understanding of industrial engineering processes relating to cooling and steam process.
• Should be self-driven, team player, passion to achieve results under minimum supervision.
• Must be able to speak both French and English fluently.
• Must possess great interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Able to demonstrate ability to work across different cultures and functions.
• Should have working knowledge in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
