JOB DETAILS:
• We are looking for a Chef whose responsibilities will include studying recipes, setting up menus, creative and preparing high-quality for Students and Staff members. The incumbent should be able to delegate tasks to kitchen staff to ensure meals are prepared in a timely manner. Familiarity with sanitation regulations is essential. The position is based in Lusaka Silverest.
• If you have experience with advanced cooking techniques and non-traditional ingredients, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you’ll prepare and deliver a complete menu that delights our guests.

Qualifications:
a) A Grade Twelve certificate
b) Culinary school diploma preferred
c) At least 3 years proven work experience as a professional Chef
d) Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g., grillers and pasta makers)
e) Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks.
f) Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
g) Familiarity with sanitation regulations
i) Should be between 25 to 40 years

Responsibilities:
1. Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans, and kitchen scales.
2.Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients.
3. Cook food in a timely manner.
4. Delegate tasks to kitchen staff
4.Inform wait staff about daily specials.
5.Ensure appealing plate presentation.
6.Supervise and train cooks, assist as needed.
7.Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. 8. reduce salt, remove dairy)
8.Monitor food stock and place orders.
9.Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items.
10.Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients.
11. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area.
12.Preparing food and ingredients.
13.Managing kitchen staff or other employees.
14. Ordering kitchen food supply.
15. Controlling kitchen costs.
16. Cooking food and plating it.
17. Perform duties as assigned by the Supervisor in a timely manner
