JOB DETAILS:
Position: Chief Commercial Officer reporting to the Chief Executive Officer
Incentive: Competitive incentives commensurate with the market averages
Job specification and duties:
General Requirements:
• To own and drive overall strategy execution for commercial goals of the business including origination of new business cases, product development, role recruitment and ultimate sales.
• To establish linkages and partnerships with other businesses in order to drive Izwe’s goals for diversification of both products and channels and dominance in areas of current business competence.
• Ensure budgeting and forecasts are in place and tracked to guarantee a high level of visibility in performance of the business against targets.
• To ensure best in class customer experience across all delivery channels and service centres.
• In charge of the marketing effort of the business to create maximum visibility in sectors or segments of interest to Izwe
• Ensure high level of credit portfolio performance through execution of client acquisition best practices as per Izwe policies and maintenance of strong customer relationships to guarantee long term value from clients and organic growth through customer retention.
• To drive the digital transformation journey of Izwe and reach new clientele while leveraging cost efficiencies in delivery channels.
• To meet corporate standards relating to managing subordinates, avoiding conflicts of interest, communicating with customers, and interacting with peers and superiors, both in-country and at group level.
Specific Minimum Competences:
• Presentation skills at executive management, board and/or group reporting levels including external stakeholders
• Experience in budget preparation, analytical skills to interpret financial and management reporting with a view to support proactive problem solving
• Proven track record in sourcing new businesses and growing both revenue and profitability from existing product offerings
• High level and practical knowledge of credit principles to support sustainable lending practices.
• Proven track record of leading in a digitally minded/transforming organisation.
• Strong evidence of running a people centred culture with focus on teamwork, skills development of staff and high levels of performance management.
Educational Requirements:
• Degree In Business related fields.
• Masters in relevant field (Added Advantage)
Experience/Knowledge
• At least 3 years working experience at executive level or 5 years at senior management level.
• Financial services background is required in banking and/or microfinances of medium to large scale
• Practical knowledge of small business practices, lending to MSMEs, savings and insurance products is preferred
• Strong personal business network is an added advantage
