JOB DETAILS:
Chief of Party

Prospero is accepting CVs from qualified applicants for implementation of an anticipated USAID Business Enabling Project (BEP), scheduled to begin in early 2022.
BEP is a five-year project to catalyze greater gender equality and inclusive private sector investment and trade in rural areas by strengthening select Zambian government and civil society organizations to implement improved and streamlined policies and processes for economically viable and gender balanced rural enterprises.
The project will also support the creation of an enabling environment that incentivizes productive investments in trade, agriculture, energy, eco-tourism and sustainable natural resource management.

The Chief of Party’s roles and responsibilities include:
1) Acting as the principal point of contact and primary liaison with USAID/Zambia for all technical and administrative matters
2) responsibility for all contract management and implementation
3) primary leadership, management of other key personnel and ownership of technical direction of the project

Minimum requirements for this role include:
• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in economics, international development, investment or another relevant field.
• At least 10 years of professional experience supervising complex field operations in developing countries.
• Experience leading implementation of similar USAID programs in Sub-Saharan Africa; work experience in Zambia is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with the public and private sectors to foster an inclusive business enabling environment and dialogue that promotes private sector investment and trade, including access to regional and international markets is required.
• Experience in trade, agriculture, energy, eco-tourism and sustainable natural resource management policy development is desired.
• Extensive knowledge of USAID procedures and programming.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills with evidence of ability to productively interact with a wide range and levels of organizations (government, private sector, NGOs, research institutions).
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
