JOB DETAILS:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CLASS TEACHER /SUBJECT TEACHER
• You will report to the Head Teacher at Helen DeVos Christian School;
• Prepare schemes of work , Lesson Plans and teaching aids for subjects taught-grades 8-12;
• Write records of work on a regular basis as agreed with the HEAD teacher or his appointee;
• Deliver lessons to pupils according to National Approved Syllabuses;
• Be able to conduct the School Based Assessment in all the grades -8-12 as stipulated by the Examination Council of guideline for School Based Assessments;
• Skilled in Effective Test Item writing;
• Be able to conduct Tests, Internal Examinations to pupils monthly and Termly, compile class performance records and maintain class registers/lists;
• Participate in school co-curriculum as assigned by the Head Teacher ;
• Be a role model to pupils in the school in all areas of human endeavor;
• Display a high standard of social behavior and thereby contribute to the tone of discipline in the school;
• Conduct morning devotions on daily basis to pupils in your class and the whole school when called upon;
• Counsel pupils based on Biblical Principles on any problem that may affect them or when need arises;
• Network with other teachers on academic and professional issues within and outside the school
• Carry out lawful instructions from supervisors on any assignment given from time to time;

QUALIFICATIONS
• Grade12 school certificate, which include English language, Science and mathematics;
• A Bsc with Education/Teaching Methodology;
• Fully Registered and Licensed by the Teaching Council of Zambia(TCZ);
• A thorough grasp of the Zambia Education Curriculum/Syllabuses of the subject specialized in will be an added advantage
