JOB DESCRIPTION
Breath of Heaven Hope Clinic is a facility offering quality out-patients services, the facility is NHIMA accredited. We offer services to the vulnerable community in our care and the out-side community. We are looking for a suitable clinical officer.

JOB PURPOSE
The Clinical Officer will work under the guidance of and support the Medical Officer and The Medical Administrator

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
ACTIVITIES
Care Services
• Examine, diagnose, order laboratory and imaging investigations, prescribe treatment and perform procedures as per their scope of training.
• History taking, physical examination, ordering appropriate laboratory investigations and make appropriate diagnosis.
• Promote rational drug use through use of MOH treatment guidelines.
• Attend to emergencies presenting to the clinic and recommend referrals for cases that cannot be managed as per MOH guidelines
• Ensure that all required observations and vitals, prescribed treatment and procedures are carried out and documented on patients’ record/electronic medical records (EMR).
• Boost patient experiences, including counseling and sensitizing patients through health talks preventive and promote health.
• Embrace, learn and develop in an evidence-based medical system.
• Consistent track record to work and deliver results with minimum supervision

Drugs/Supplies
• Work with pharmacy on essential drugs required at the health facility and ensure rational use.
• Work with pharmacy staff to ensure pharmacovigilance is applied on dangerous drugs and general outpatient drugs.

Laboratory
• Work together with the Lab staff/facilities to ensure relevant investigations are done on a timely manner with the correct results and ensure quality control at all times.

Trainings
• On Job Training of interns/staff at the clinic and engage in career development trainings appropriate.

Report Writing
• Assist in preparing and presenting monthly, quarterly and annual reports with the guidance of the Medical Officer and Medical Administrator

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Professional Qualifications
• Diploma in Clinical Medicine
• Registered with HPCZ and MUST possess a valid practicing license

Required Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum of 5 years working experience, working ideally in a busy health facility
• Knowledge and experience in minor surgery and emergence care management
• Full knowledge in operating with NHIMA service systems
• A God-fearing person with a recommendation letter from your church

Skills
• Good clinical skills, to be able not to miss a diagnosis, answer questions asked by the clients appropriate in line with the diagnosis and treatment
• Good knowledge in computer word, excel, power point, zoom, google meet etc
• Required to be team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure in a stressful environment, displaying resilience, compassion, diplomacy and reliable at all costs
• Active team player with good interpersonal and management skills
• Good analytical skills
• Self-initiative
• Ability to work under minimum supervision

Experience in Months: 60

Level of Education:
Associate Degree
