Prime Insurance Limited is an insurance company, established in 1995 by Rwandan investors, a licensed general and life insurance company authorized by the National Bank of Rwanda (BNR).
The Company is seeking to recruit a highly skilled, self- motivated and experienced person to fill the following post:

Compliance & Risk Manager

Under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, the Compliance & Risk Manager will assess the level of risks within the Prime Insurance Ltd and ensure required actions are identified and implemented to mitigate those. To ensure through regular audits that Prime Insurance Ltd have effective internal control systems and comply with company policies and procedures as well as Rwanda regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops a company-wide risk assessment and mapping, leads the implementation of a mitigation action plan. Identifies ways of improving cost-efficiency and streamlining processes and advises Management at the company;
• Builds capacity of Senior Managers and other staff in terms of risk management and internal controls;
• To enforce the implementation of different policies and procedures in place;
• To identify and manage existing and new risks in a planned and coordinated manner with minimum disruption and cost;
• To develop the risk management culture and provide a central oversight of risk management across the company to ensure that the full spectrum of risks facing the company are properly identified, measured, monitored and controlled in order to minimize adverse outcomes;
• To co-ordinate the process of monitoring and reporting of risks across the company;
• To maximize earnings potential and opportunities;
•  To provide valuable advice and oversee all matters related to compliance with regulations rules, internal and external policies as well as all matter related to Risk Management;
• To ensure the intermediate role between the Company and the Regulator (BNR).
• Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly report as he/she will be required;
• Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

JOB SPECIFICATION
Qualification

• Bachelor Degree in Finance, Audit or Management; CPA, ACCA qualifications or equivalent
• A least 10 years’ experience as Financial Controller, Auditor or Finance Manager in a reputable organization; risk management experience would be desirable
• Demonstrated skills in developing, managing and implementing audit plans in large and complex organizations
• Rwandan by nationality
• Age maximum 45

Skills:

• High level of technical auditing skills, knowledge of relevant international standards governing internal audit practice;
•  Excellent advisory skills with high work standards and ability to promote team synergy in a multicultural work environment;
• Excellent interpersonal skills ( tact, diplomacy, discretion, and impartiality), strong Team-player with ability to work in a virtual team;
• Ability to work and communicate effectively in a broad spectrum of individuals within a broad range of cultural environment
• Proficiency in record keeping and Data analysis
