Job title: Consultancy – CAD draftsperson/site engineer

BORDA Zambia was registered as a Zambian civil society organization in 2017. We are specialized in the field of sustainable environmental protection through integrated sanitation solutions. Our activities aim at making neighbourhoods more liveable by developing and implementing innovative on-site sanitation solutions that build climate resilience, strengthen social structures, and foster the sustainable and attentive handling of natural resources. We support holistic approaches on policy formulation, participatory urban planning processes and infrastructure development. In this respect, BORDA Zambia designs and implements innovative system packages together with partners, fosters capacity building and facilitates dialogue between civil society organisations, communities, government entities, the private sector, scientific institutions, and international organizations.
Together with our local partners, we are re-imagining water and sanitation systems based on a foundation of research and are customizing solutions in order to realize water and sanitation for all. BORDA understands that innovating is not only about technology but rather about generating new approaches that work for local communities – and keep working.
BORDA Zambia is part of the BORDA Africa Region and the global BORDA partner network, which has over 40 years of experience. Globally, BORDA is collaborating with more than 100 organisations to enable the transition towards liveable and inclusive cities which give disadvantaged urban and peri-urban populations access to essential public services such as on-site sanitation, faecal sludge management, solid waste management, energy, and water.
Location: Lusaka, Zambia
Contract duration: 3 1/2 months (mid-September to end of December 2021)
Reporting to: Senior Engineer
Main TORs:
• Drafting of assigned project drawings
• Assistance in the preparation of project BoQ’s according to designs and specifications
• Assistance in the procurement and management of project materials and equipment
• Site supervision and monitoring of project progress and construction compliance according to design specifications
• Documentation of designs and site activities according to BORDA standards
• Assist in conducting technical feasibility studies as assigned through the technical office
• Management of project activities and other technical tasks as assigned through the BORDA Zambia technical office

Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of an advanced certificate in mechanical drafting or its equivalent
• At least 3 years of work experience drafting using computer aided design software (experience in the sanitation sector is an added advantage)
• At least 2 years of experience in site supervision activities
• Proficient in the use of computer aided design (CAD) software (proficiency in Civil 3D and GIS is an added advantage)
• Must be a member of the EIZ
• Possession of a valid driving licence is an added advantage
