BACKGROUND
Established in 1996, SAfAIDS is a Regional SRHR, HIV, Gender and Human Rights focused organization, whose operations span the SADC Region. Its Regional Office is based in Zimbabwe, and it has Country Offices in the Kingdom of eSwatini, Malawi, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. SAfAIDS mandate promotes SRHR; Gender Equality; and HIV and TB Responses within a human rights framework, across the SADC region, in collaboration with State and non-State actors at policy, service delivery and community levels. Material development and production is a core niche for SAfAIDS in the SADC region, including production of capacity strengthening, policy advocacy, IEC and campaign and related materials to advance diverse thematic programming areas.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Health Systems Advocacy Project (HSAP) is a five year project funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation being undertaken in Kenya, Uganda Zambia and the Netherlands. The implementing agencies include AMREF, who are the pen holder, Health Action International (HAI), the African Center for Global Health and Social Transformation (ACHEST), Wemos, and the Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation.
The project will contribute to achieving improved Human Resources for Health (HRH) and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) by creating space for a strong civil society to engage effectively with the Government of the Republic of Zambia, the private sector and other stakeholders accountable for health systems, to deliver equitable, accessible and high-quality SRHR services to all through strengthened health systems. In Zambia, the implementing agencies for Health Systems Advocacy (HSA) project include MeTA Zambia, AMREF and ACHEST. .
Job Responsibilities:
i.Development of a study protocol
ii. Baseline Inception report with detailed workplan, methodology and tools
iii. A presentation of provisional study findings/ first draft for face-to-face discussion between the Consultant and SAfAIDS
iv. Final evaluation report, not exceeding 30 pages (excluding annexes), of publishable quality, including an executive summary and with consistency between findings, conclusions, lessons and recommendations, approved by SAfAIDS
v. Appendices, including a list of informants and the study team’s work schedule
(MSWord), electronic copies of study findings, notes from meetings, key informant interviews and focus group discussions.

Job Qualifications:
i. A master’s degree or postgraduate diploma in monitoring and evaluation, Social Sciences, Public Health or related fields.
ii. A minimum of five years professional experience in conducting studies of both local and internationally funded projects.
iii. Experience in using participatory and mixed methods (qualitative and quantitative) for data collection and analysis in research studies.
iv. Knowledge of health specifically SRH a must.
v. A clear understanding and interpretation of SDGs
vi. Ability to write concise and analytical reports and develop relevant, useful recommendations..
