JOB DETAILS:
The successful candidate will fill a position at Sesheke Subordinate Court and will be reporting to the Clerk of Court and will as well be responsible for the following duties.
Main Duties
• Converting speech or sign language from one language into another in real time. Provide a linguistically true legally appropriate interpretation.
• Sight reading or sight translating various translations of documents.
• Working closely with lawyers, witnesses and defendants to relay information and depositions, hearings and other Court cases.
• Relaying the style and tone of the original language.
• Managing work schedules to meet deadlines.
• Taking care of exhibits and making them appropriately. Maintaining the Courts dairy.
• Preparing monthly and annual returns.
Knowledge And Skill Requirements:
• Full Form V or Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate with Five (5) 'O' levels credit or better including English and Mathematics.
• Able to speak fluently at least in (3) three local languages preferably Silozi, Tonga, Bemba and Nyanja.
• Related professional skills are an added advantage.
• The candidate must be 18 to 35 years of age.
