JOB DETAILS:
Credit Controller .

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide leadership, management, and technical support to Credit Officers and clerks in order to effectively manage credit sales as well as manage and mitigate credit risk;
• Check for credit viability on requests for extended terms, and evaluate various adjustments or exception documents;
• Monitor violations of credit policies, provide analysis, conclusion and recommendations, present findings to senior management and suggest actions/penalties to be taken when appropriate;
• Prepare contingency plans to prevent and cope with credit risk and other related operational risks to ensure good quality credit portfolios;
• Assist in developing sound, acceptable credit policies;
• Ensure timely and accurate recording in the system of all the collections efforts and progress made for all credit accounts in arrears;
• Establish a competent Credit team by recruiting dynamic, knowledgeable, and results-oriented staff as per plans and budget;
• Manage the performance of the credit team and motivate them to meet and exceed goals and objectives;
• Build Credit staff competency, knowledge, and integrity through coaching, training, and mentoring;
• Measure the performance of all direct subordinates, provide regular formal and informal feedback on the extent to which objectives and targets have been met, and provide input into the individual’s personal development plan;
• Follow required steps and best practices in disciplinary and grievance cases.
