What is the role?
We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Officer in Zambia with specialised experience in the fintech sector and a proven track record of working with regulators. The ideal candidate will possess strong professional qualifications in cybersecurity, extensive knowledge of ISO27001 standards, and demonstrated success in IT audits. This role requires a vigilant and proactive approach to cyber defense, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our electronic information.
Your main duties will include:
• Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements specific to the fintech industry.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure that all cybersecurity practices meet or exceed the mandated standards.
• Lead the company through ISO27001 certification process and maintain ongoing compliance with the standard.
• Conduct regular IT audits and risk assessments, and provide mitigation strategies to address identified vulnerabilities.
• Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends and regulatory changes that impact the fintech sector.
• Train staff on cybersecurity best practices and awareness.
• Coordinate with IT and other departments to ensure a unified approach to security and compliance.
• Respond to and investigate security breaches or incidents with appropriate strategies.
• Report to senior management on the status of the information security program and potential risks.
You are a perfect fit if you have:
• Professional cybersecurity qualification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a cybersecurity role within the fintech industry, including direct interaction with regulators.
• Demonstrated experience with ISO27001 certification and compliance processes.
• Extensive knowledge of IT audit strategies, methodologies, and frameworks.
• Familiarity with industry-standard cybersecurity and risk management tools and software.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements affecting cybersecurity in the fintech space.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex security issues to a broad audience.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team, as well as work collaboratively with other departments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree or further education is a plus.
