JOB DETAILS:
Provincial Health Office, Western Province with support from U.S Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has been implementing programs to improve the management of TB, STIs and HIV/AIDS care services in the Province since 2006. To further strengthen the programs, WPHO is inviting applications from interested persons who meet the minimum requirements to fill the following vacant positions on contract basis subject to renewal:
JOB TITLE: DATA MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (01)
LOCATION: Provincial Health Office
Reports to: SI/ Lead with technical interaction with the Senior Health Inforrnation Officer
JOB PURPOSE: Maintains active data warehouse and undertake routine data analysis to support data driven decision making to improve TB/HIV program performance in the province. .
Job Responsibilities:
• Manages effectively health information systems in order to ensure effective and efficient usage.
• Maintain updated dashboards for active program performance monitoring
• Coordinates effective utilization of Situation Room HIV dosh boards at PHO and in all the supported DHOs.
• Participates in development of action plans.
• Provides technical support and supervision to district and zonal facilities areas in order to facilitate provision of quality data for decision making.
• Undertakes and provides regularly training on health management information systems in order to impart appropriate skills and knowledge in the health information personnel.
• Monitors and evaluates timely health information programs in order to implement appropriate interventions.
• Undertakes regularly operational research in TB/HIV program in order to facilitate generation of information for timely decision making for program performance improvement.
• Provide monthly information bulletins to all program officers for appropriate interventions for TB/HIV program performance improvement
• Coordinates and Undertakes timely updating of the health information database in order to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of TB/HIV data.
• Undertakes timely development of protocols for program evaluation.
• Undertakes timely development of manuscripts and other papers for publication.
• Undertakes timely facilitation, development and utilization of effective data warehouse

Job Qualifications:
• Full grade 12/School Certificate
• Must be between the age of 21 and 50 years
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Demography
• Masters’ degree in Information technology, Computer Science, Demography, or any other social science will be added advantage
• Three (3) years of relevant work experience
• Must be able to write comprehensive reports
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English
