Job Purpose
Leverage advanced analytical techniques, statistical methods, and machine learning algorithms to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights to inform policy decisions and optimize operations within the Bank.
Main Accountabilities
- Collaborate with data engineers and business analysts to collect, preprocess, and manage data as well as build and maintain data pipelines.
- Participate in the development of statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics solutions to inform policy decision making.
- Analyse large amounts of complex data to extract insights from credible data sources and utilize data visualization tools to effectively communicate findings and insights to stakeholders for policy decision-making.
- Design experiments using machine learning tools to test hypotheses and assess the efficacy of machine learning and deep learning solutions.
- Lead in the establishment of an integrated data management program for the Bank in line with modern data architecture.
- Leverage opportunities to enable the coexistence of corporate analytical environments with new capabilities that enhance fast, agile and flexible access to structured and unstructured data in order to allow business users to address new advanced analytics or machine learning use cases.
- Identify a set of differentiating capabilities, relevant trends and new paradigms in Big Data/Data Science domains, the proof of concepts implemented to validate the business value, as well as the roadmap established for a governed adoption of Modern Data Architecture.
- Enhance data collection procedures by processing, cleansing, and validating the integrity of data to be used for analysis.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and financial technology to continuously improve analytical methods and tools.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Software Engineering or equivalent
- Three (3) years relevant experience
- Grade 12 School Certificate with a minimum of five (5) ‘O’ Levels (Credit or better)
Key Knowledge and Attributes
- Proficient in Python, R, and/or Matlab Programming languages.
- Strong command of SQL and other database software and concepts.
- Strong experience with machine learning algorithms and libraries.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, good at handling complex and unstructured data.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross functional teams.
