Project summary
CIDRZ is implementing a five-year (Oct 4, 2021 – Oct 3, 2026) USAID Controlling HIV Epidemic for Key and Underserved Population (CHEKUP) I project, whose goal is to improve the health outcomes of Zambians by preventing new infections among priority and key populations most at risk of acquiring HIV.
Job summary
To safely and timely drive and maintain project vehicles in order to facilitate mobility of project staff, materials and equipment.
Main Duties
1. Undertakes effectively driving of the vehicles allocated so as to ensure the safety and timely movement of officers and materials
2. Prepares timely reports on the occurrence of road traffic accidents in order to facilitate prompt remedial actions
3. Complete timely log books in order to enhance accountability of motor vehicle utilisation
4. Undertakes regularly inspections of the vehicle’s road worthiness so as to avoid traffic accidents and unnecessary breakdowns
5. Produce summary of vehicle usage reports and ensure CIDRZ policy and standards are adhered to
6. Report all accidents and defects on motor vehicle in accordance with CIDRZ policy
7. Day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle – check oil, water, battery, brakes, tyres etc., perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs, and ensure that the vehicle is kept clean
8. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the field supervisor, senior project staff or Transport Officer.
Qualifications
1. Class “C” Driver’s License
2. Full Grade 12/ Form V School Certificate
3. Minimum of 2 years work experience driving with proven dean record
4. Ability to work under pressure
5. Excellent English language, oral and written communication skills.
6. Based in the implementation locations.
