As a company, Adroit believes in inclusive growth. Therefore, our Lusaka office is currently recruiting for an Electrical and Electronics engineer with vast expertise in Solar installation and configuration.

Job brief
• We are looking for an electrical and electronics engineer with expertise in the installation and Configuration of Solar mini-grids and experience with Victron inverters and battery chargers and must be ready to move to remote areas within Zambia.
• Ultimately, you will improve our company’s products and processes and contribute to its growth.

Responsibilities
• Design, control, and implement electrical systems and products
• Develop manufacturing processes according to global engineering codes and standards
• Manage engineering projects and deliver them on time
• Define customer needs and requirements
• Ensure that installations and applications are in line with customer needs and safety standards
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to design and apply new system processes
• Perform quality and performance analysis on new and legacy IT systems
• Summarize data and report on test results
• Examine needs on new equipment, calculate costs, and help prepare budgets
• Monitor maintenance and inspection plans
• The key responsibilities of a solar engineer include:
• System Design and Analysis:
• Assessing factors like solar radiation, shading, and space availability.
• Designing efficient and cost-effective solar energy systems.
• Calculating energy yield and potential return on investment.
• Project Planning and Coordination:
• Collaborating with architects, electrical engineers, and other professionals.
• Integrating solar technologies into new construction or retrofitting existing structures.
• Ensuring compliance with building codes and environmental regulations.
• Technology Research and Development:
• Staying updated on advancements in solar technologies and energy storage systems.
• Installation and Commissioning:
• Overseeing the installation of solar panels and related components.
• Conducting system testing and commissioning.
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
• Developing maintenance plans for long-term performance.
• Diagnosing and resolving equipment issues.
• Client Education and Communication:
• Providing technical expertise to clients and stakeholders

Requirements and skills
• 3- 5 years Proven expertise as an electrical engineer
• Expertise in installation and configuration of Solar Mini-grids
• Must have experience with Victron inverters and battery chargers
• Must be registered with relevant authorities ie ERB, EIZ
• Hands-on experience using design and calculation software
• Understanding of electrical engineering codes and safety standards
• Problem-solving abilities
• Attention to detail
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• A Degree or better in Electrical and Electronics Engineering is a must
• Must be ready to move to remote areas of Zambia

Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
