JOB DETAILS:
UDL is a private real estate development company leading the way in changing the landscape of Rwanda through its residential and commercial development projects. Ultimate Developers Ltd. would like to recruit Electrical technician who will work under the overall supervision of the Technical Director.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Purpose: Responsible for coordinating and supervising the electrical work while performing a variety of maintenance tasks and preventive maintenance in and around the Vision City community.

KEY COMPETENCES

• Execute plans of electrical wiring for well functioning lighting, intercom and other electrical systems;
  
• Install and monitor the existing electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for alarm and other systems;
  
• Install and monitor the existing safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.);
  
• Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components;
  
• Ensure that lighting inspections are performed on a regular basis documenting problem areas and/or fixtures. A lighting log is to be maintained to track frequency of replacements and to identify problematic fixtures or areas that may require an electrician or other specialty trade to correct issue(s);
  
• Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them;
  
• Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc.;
  
• Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units;
  
• Schedule and complete preventive maintenance checks;
  
• Work within expense limits established by the Company;
  
• Maintain inventory controls for cost effective operations;
  
• Read and comprehend maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged appliances;
  
• Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned;
  
• Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance service responses;
  
• Monitor and maintain all building systems as assigned;
  
• Responsible for alerting the Estate Manager of any unusual occurrences and/or damage that has taken place or that may occur;
  
• Assure safety standards are used which comply with all Company guidelines;
  
• Maintain a professional, courteous manner with all residents, vendors, contractors and fellow employees;
  
• Ensure compliance of all work related activities in fair, ethical and consistent manner.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: A Diploma Electrical Engineering;
  
• Experience: 3 years related experience. Prior supervisory experience is preferred;
  
• Computer Skills: Working knowledge of MS Office applications and willingness to learn and utilize Excel and Word program.
  
• Must be a Technologist registered in the Institute of Engineers Rwanda (IER) or have the practicing certificate provided by RURA.

• Working Under Pressure – Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours and weekends based on project requirement
