JOB DETAILS:
Background
African Parks is a non-profit conservation organization founded in 2003 that manages 22 national parks and protected areas in 12 countries covering 20 million hectares. This is achieved through long-term agreements with national governments, putting in place funding solutions and establishing good governance and management to achieve ecological, social and financial sustainability.
Under the supervision of the Field Operations Manager, the Electrician will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Study the plans to determine the location of electrical installations (cables, circuit breakers, electrical cabinets, switches, sockets, etc.),
2. Realize the installation of cable trays and electrical ducts.
3. Do the electrical installation of buildings (bulb, switch, socket etc.)
4. Positioning of electrical cabinets of domestic or tertiary premises
5. Connection of electrical cabinet to equipment in domestic or tertiary premises
6. Carry out various tests to ensure the proper functioning of electrical installations
7. Fix and/or Retune low voltage elements on site
8. Wire the organization’s electrical equipment
9. Energize the electrical installations installed
10. Turn on and off the power unit according to the established schedule
11. Do the permanent maintenance of the electrical groups of the organization
12. Repair the organization’s electrical appliances as much as possible (change the power supply, fuses, chargers, etc.)
13. Relocate effective electrical equipment or installations (bulbs, sockets, cables, etc.)
14. Installation and maintenance of DC Electrical systems
15. Install new electrical equipment
16. Produce efficient and secure installation plans and diagrams
17. Make estimates of material needs for new installations or repairs
18. Place orders for materials with suppliers
19. Make an inventory of your stock of equipment and draw up a Report every month
20. And any other tasks at the request of the supervisor
Level of education:
Diploma in electro mechanics
Other skills:
1. Use of electrical measuring devices (multimeter, …)
2. Knowledge of electrical engineering
3. Ability to read circuit diagrams and plans
4. Skills in the realization, installation and maintenance of electrical systems
5. Skills in the assembly and wiring of civil and industrial electrical panels and cabinets
6. Knowledge of an electrician’s instruments and work tools
7. Compliance with safety rules and instructions
8. Compliance with the safety rules of work under tension
9. Adaptability
