JOB DETAILS:
Reporting to the Board Chairperson, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following;
• Overall strategic leadership of the organization to ensure the relevance, impact and cost-effectiveness of the organization as an umbrella network in Zambia.
• Being the main representative of the organization, charged with guiding relevant program strategy development and implementation,
• Leading in resource mobilization for operational execution and organizational sustainability.
• Managing a multi-disciplinary organizational set up involving diverse programs and community centered projects.
• Monitor all aspects of compliance with statutory obligations and all contractual agreements.
• Lead high level networking and representation of the organization to the Zambian public, government, donor community, civil society, the private sector, and other constituencies on program related issues.
• Report to the Board of Governors on a regular basis on the implementation of programmatic and operational progress, and risks related to the implementation of the organization’s strategy.
• Ensure the implementation and regular review of a robust Monitoring and Evaluation System and mechanism that will encourage inclusive and participatory approaches to determining results of the organization’s interventions and embrace learning for growth of the organizations
Required Qualifications, Competencies And Attributes
• Masters’ Degree in any social science discipline, Business Administration or equivalent.
• A Post Graduate qualification or Certification in Monitoring and Evaluation, Leadership or Community Participatory Methodologies and Gender studies will be an added advantage.
• At least ten (10) years’ experiences in a senior management position in the development sector.
• Practical and proven experience in organizational management including change management, human resource development and building interpersonal relations and communication within and among multi-cultural teams.
• Demonstrable strategic and results oriented leadership.
• Demonstrable capacity to support policy analysis and advocacy processes of the organisation
• Ability to lead teams and harness teamwork and cooperation in delivery of services
• Clarity and impeccable knowledge about international, regional and national gender protocols;
• Appreciable business understanding and fundraising activities towards overall institutional financial sustainability.
• Passion and self-drive in the promotion of women’s rights and women’s empowerment
• Familiarity and in-depth understanding of Zambia’s civil society sector and the general context of the gender agenda.
• Demonstrable appreciation and practice of gender sensitivity and responsiveness with the ability to manage from a human rights perspective.
