Background:
Lions Aid Zambia (LIAZ) is a developmental agency for Lions Club International District 413.The principal mandate of LIAZ is to support interventions to eliminate visual impairment by combating eye diseases, creating eye infrastructure to improve eye care service delivery, increasing the number of trained eye health care professionals and making vision care more equitable and sustainable.
Lions Aid Zambia, working with the Ministry of Health Neglected Tropical Disease Unit, as the implementing partner of Trachoma program activities funded through the International Trachoma Initiative (ITI) calls for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from national firms for project staff traveling out of Lusaka.

Purpose:
LIAZ is looking for a vehicle rental company to supply 4×4 wheel drive vehicles, preferably Toyota land cruisers or equivalent for activities under the Trachoma program.
All vehicles will be hired for a predetermined period set by LIAZ. The vehicle rental services
will be needed to support LIAZ with vehicles for off road field travel to selected provinces in Zambia with travel to sub districts with rough terrain. This requires the ability of the company or companies to provide rental vehicles at a large scale.

Qualifications
• The company must have prior experience of handling rental of 4X4 land cruisers or equivalent.
• Must have technical staff of their own for ensuring vehicle maintenance during the rental period;
• Have qualified drivers with experience of working in the difficult conditions and knowledge of local road conditions;
• The company must be aware of local security situations, and be able to action and implement contingency plans;
• Own a large fleet of vehicles that can be available at short notice i.e minimum 20;
• Company must have or be able to provide a fleet of vehicles in roadworthy condition during the period of the contract;
• The company must be in the business of vehicle hire/rentals;
• The vehicles must have current insurance from a credible insurance company
• Vendors must be properly licensed, legally organized businesses, organizations, or firms and registered for taxation with a valid Tax Clearance Certificate.
The purpose of this Expression of Interest (EOI) is to identify vendors who have the capability and interest to provide the described service. All information provided by vendors will be kept confidential and no information will be revealed to external parties.

Scope of Work
The Request for Proposal (RFP) containing detailed information to prospective bidders, technical proposal, financial proposal, data sheet, deadlines and place of submission will be availed to interested parties after the deadline of 5th October 2021 based on meeting the requirements and additional considerations.

Additional Considerations
• Responders are expected to write a statement, describing how they can address and meet LIAZ requirements.
• Confirmation and description of the vendors ability and interest to provide the described service.
• Provide the full names, title and contact details of your company point of contact.
• Confirmation that your business is registered and licensed in Zambia to provide the services/supply and deliver the products.
• Confirmation that your company is a going-concern with the financial liquidity to fulfill orders.
• These responses will be used to determine if Vendors shall be invited to submit a detailed proposal.
