JOB DETAILS:
1. Purpose of the Job
The Finance Manager (FM) will be responsible for all major financial decisions and transactions on behalf of ZCL and requires a level of financial knowledge and experience of a fully-fledged finance professional.
2. Principal Accountabilities
Accountable to the Regional Manager, the Finance will be responsible for the following: –
a) Business and financial strategies, planning, monitoring, management and reporting, including management and development of policies, systems, processes and personnel involved by way of developing ZCL’s financial systems to facilitate management decision making.
b) Reporting and accounting as per regulatory and legal requirements including taxation, dividends, annual report and accounts by way of:
1. Ensuring that all external reporting obligations with the Governments of the Namibia and Zambia are met.
ii. Ensuring integrity of ZCL’s cash, receivables, payables management.
iii. Execute all major financial transactions as directed by the Board.
iv. Monitor the overall financial health of ZCL using established matrices.
v. Enforce financial discipline/guidelines and controls as stipulated by the Board.
c) Evaluate and develop finance personnel as well as support development and performance of staff in the department.
d) Play a key role in close collaboration with the executive and management team in budget preparation.
e) As a key member of the Management team, participate in the quarterly meetings and report on the Company’s financial position.
f) Provision of key financial information about ZCL’s financial health to the Regional Manager on a regular basis.
3. Requirements
a) Knowledge of freight logistics industry will be an added advantage.
b) Experience of having worked in a senior financial role in a medium to large organization.
c) Excellent understanding and application of the International Standards on
d) Accounting (IASS & IFRAS) and ability to fully comply with national and
e) international professional institutions such as ACCA or CIMA.
f) Experience in having managed the finance department and leading to successful financial audits
g) Ability to quality assure projects and, when required, supervises peers to follow sound internal control practices and to manage risks appropriately.
h) Strong skills in analysis, interpersonal, tact and diplomacy, negotiating, relationship building, problem solving, and timely problem escalation.
i) Excellent written and oral communication skills.
1) Excellent time management and organizational skills.
k) Detail oriented but able to quickly grasp the bigger picture.
1) Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.
m) Ability to follow through complicated financial trails.
n) The candidate must be a Zambian citizen.
0) Fully registered member of the Zambian locally accredited international professional institutions such as ACCA or CIMA.

5. Qualification
a) Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or Finance from a recognized training institution. In addition, possess any other professional qualifications such as ACCA or CIMA.
b) Higher qualifications such as Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a Finance bias will be an added advantage.
c) Must have relevant work experience of at least six (06) years in a senior financial management position in a reputable medium to large size organization.
The Company would facilitate the work permit in Namibia to the suitably qualified candidates. The Company would offer competitive remuneration and other conditions of service to the suitably qualified candidates.
