Position Title: Fundraising Manager
Reports to: Country Director
Location: Lusaka, Zambia
Tiny Tim and Friends (TTF) is a Zambian NGO that provides pediatric HIV treatment, counseling and support to children, pregnant women and adolescents living with HIV in Lusaka Zambia. With support from various donors, we have helped many children and pregnant women lead healthy lives.
Overview of the Role
The Fundraising Manager serves as the lead in actively pursuing and managing grants, cultivating donors and fundraising opportunities, managing communications and marketing content, and updating current donors on their programs. This position reports to the Country Director and serves on the Senior Management Team. The Fundraising Manager will work alongside TTF staff and Board to promote fundraising and programme delivery and development.
We are looking for a highly motivated fundraising professional experienced with a diverse range of fundraising, communications and grant management experience who can help secure over $450,000 of funding each year and ensure the stability and growth of TTF’s clinical work and social and counselling programmes. The primary function of the Fundraising Manager will be to:
• Ensure regular, and consistent income through a range of fundraising streams and donor pipelines
• Support effective grant management and donor correspondence to ensure donor retention
• Identify and secure new funding and new income streams
• Promote TTF’s work in Zambia and Globally through high quality and consistent communications
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO INTERNATIONAL CANDIDATES BUT IS TO BE BASED IN LUSAKA, ZAMBIA. PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO ZAMBIAN NATIONALS WITH THE RELEVANT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE. .
Skills and Experience
Fundraising and Grant writing
• Degree or Diploma (with work experience) in relevant discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in at least two of the following fundraising areas: individual giving, institutional grant writing, major donors or trusts and foundations (ESSENTIAL)
• Proven Experience of securing five and six figure grants/ donations (ESSENTIAL)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing donor funds and in donor reporting (ESSENTIAL)
• Strong understanding of MEAL Frameworks and experience in developing Logframes, Theory of Change and MEAL tools with programme teams (ESSENTIAL)
• Ability to support programme and project delivery teams in developing existing and new projects into fundable proposals. (ESSENTIAL)
• Donor research experience in identifying and cultivating new funding opportunities from local, national and international sources (ESSENTIAL)
• Excellent networking skills and the confidence to develop relationships with individuals from a range of partners and donors (DESIREABLE)
• Experience working in HIV, SRH, and/or youth programmes (DESIREABLE)
Grant Management
• Experience managing donor data bases including maintaining all grant funds/development correspondence and donor files, thank you letters and grant applications. (ESSENTIAL)
• Experience of working with a range of donors including trusts, foundations, multilateral and bilateral donors with diverse reporting requirements (DESIREABLE)
• Ability to work closely with the financial manager on grant reporting and assist with any grant-related items
• Experience of working on donor budgets and within multi donor funded projects (DESIREABLE)
Communications
• Preferred experience using publishing software (DESIREABLE)
• Skills and experience in managing an organisations social media to increase audience engagement and encourage active participation in TTFs work (DESIREABLE)
• Preferred experience with web management through CRM systems (DESIREABLE)
• Ability to take staff updates and develop fundraising or social media content (ESSENTIAL)
• Ability to take quality pictures and/or videos (ESSENTIAL)
• Experience in designing and delivering fundraising campaigns, ie designing and publishing newsletters, End of Year Fundraising and Crowdfunding campaigns (DESIREABLE)
